Dear Mother & Dad,

Hi!  I especially wanted to say:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Speaking as the eldest of your children, I think I can say that we're all very pleased that the two of you decided to get married and that there is still reason to celebrate 42 years later.  Why does that number make me feel older? 

We're looking forward to coming to Ohio next month.  Thanks to Mary Virginia for giving me an occasion.  As Roberta may have mentioned to you, Gerry has a new job.  He started yesterday at a place called Jerry's RV.  Robert Crist decided to close their Phoenix store effective June 1 so Gerry is fortunate to have been offered this other job now, Jerry's is at 47th & Grand -- about 4½ miles from our house.  So the driving distance is about the same.  Gerry thinks that there is more potential for him in this job so that is another positive factor. At any rate that is another reason for our abbreviated trip to Ohio.  (By the way the grand total for the airline tickets is $310.)

I want to get this off to you before 5:00 (your time) just in case Dad is leaving early today.  maybe he took the day off though???Are you doing anything special to celebrate?

Wendy is having Iowa Tests this week.  Do they take them in New Vienna?  She is looking forward to her spring break next week.  We are also in hopes that Dee and baby Jessica will be coming to visit us later this month.

Sorry it's been so long since I last wrote.  I still have a clipping to send but it will have to wait for a "regular" letter.  Hope it's a special year for you and much happiness together.
