Notes from Dad's Diary 1989-1999
Tuesday 1989 - Jean went to UMW meeting, UMW purchased the last of the new Methodist hymnals at $10.50 each. A nice sunny day. John called - his friend Mark loves to fly people here and there.
Wednesday 1990 - [Phoenix] Exchanged TWA tickets with MD excuse. Jean forgets purse & ticket, so extra experience in going to airport. Terminal 4 is to open this fall. Went to R[.....?] Trust Meeting in Mesa, 150 there.
Friday 1992 - Serena, Everett & Ann Bailey here for supper. Mother enjoying Strawberry Pie from Frischs.
Sunday 1993 - [KY to home] Left the van in London KY and went on to Somerset in the car. Don had the SS lesson about perfection in love. Had baptism for Ginny - this IS Baptismal Sunday. Virginia Bowles sang. 11 of us went to lunch at a Chinese Buffet for $56. "Hit" couple of Cracker Barrel's on the way home. They have reduced their Christmas stuff by 75% -- was 50% off yesterday.
Monday 1994 - Eye appt in Wilmington, may need a cataract operation in 2 years. Can still get to 20/40 vision. Lunch at Arby's, came home via Lees Creek, witnessed Bentleys wills.
Wednesday 1996 - Harners had us out to supper, what a workshop Orville has in his basement, stuff everywhere. Bentley lockbox opening in Sabina in am. Write-up in WNJ about Tammy Thornburg's wedding in October. Late getting to prayer meeting at UMC
Friday 1997 - Paul Terrell inventory.
Saturday 1998 - About got Schedule C '97 tax done. New church (presently in old lumber yard building on Bernard Rd) going up near Bob McCoy on S.R. 350. Two new homes on NE corner of 350 and Farmers Road. Went to Wilmington, got new library card. Had supper at Arby's. Talked with Serena on the phone. Sid has been retired 26 years, believe he is 78, he can get quite wordy on the internet.
Sunday 1999 - Memorial Service for Nancy Newman's mother at Hollowtown Church of Christ, west of Danville in Highland County. Went on down to Georgetown, library addition in 1989. Mt. Orab has a new looking library. Had snack at the Lake Lorelei Restaurant at junction of 68 & 744 - it was OK.
