HH Diary 1989-1999

Saturday 1989 -Jean & I went to Wilmington at 8:30.  She had an Emmaus meeting until noon and I went to the library.  The Homer Williams' were there again.  We drove to Waynesville and had lunch at the Hammel House (double room rates are $69 w/bkfst) -- big salad was $4.50, $15 in all, walked thru uptown antique shops, by the time we got to the new library it was closed.  Honda turned 4000 miles.

Sunday 1990 - [Phoenix] Trinity Bible Church, lunch at Sizzler, movie "Dad".

Monday 1991 - Leon Salisbury now Admin Board Chair.

Tuesday 1992 - Met Roberta at Columbus airport.  Bought blue blazer in Columbus at Huntington [Clothiers] on Alum Creek, $169.  Health food in Bexley, also strawberries.  Got gas in WCH for 93.9¢.  Mother in good spirits, got book via Catherine on beating the Dow.  Roberta brought lots of grapefruit.

Friday 1994 - [Newark to Columbus]  John took me to Honda dealer where they replaced the rotor, factory recall.  Then went to computer meeting at Lennox Inn I-70 and Rt. 256.  Since John & Julie had evening plans we left there about 5 and had dinner at Nutt Rd Restaurant on E. Main just west of I-270.  BIG Barnes & Noble bookstore just down the street and open until 11PM.  We were in #308 at Knights Inn near East Gate for $34.95.  Article in NYT about Tenement Museum at 97 Orchard Street [NYC], near Delaney.

Saturday 1995 - Met Serena at Golden Lamb for dinner.  Got gas in Wilmington for 99.9 cents.  Phyllis told me she got too nervous doing office work.

Sunday 1996 - Lots of snow drifts.  30 for SS and Church, we joined Stan Hannah's class.  We ate at NV Restaurant, sure not smoke free.

Tuesday 1997 - Jean got her driver's license in Cincy.  Ate lunch at Midland, Senior Citizen was $3.25, got green suitcase at 3H [3A?] for $84.75.

Wednesday 1998 - Lions Club 50th Anniversary.  Vaughn Huffman is remaining original member, about 80 there, people I hadn't seen in years: Dave Free, David Shoemaker - he has Star Moving in Hillsboro and is Head Custodian of Hillsboro Schools.  Quite a talk with George & Imogene Shaffer, still using their mobile home, active on internet.  Bernie [?] Priest is quite a talker.  Walkers back from Florida.
