1981 Catherine's Letter -June 7

Sunday, June 7, 1981
Dear Mother, Dad & Mary,

Hi!  Thanks for calling yesterday.  It was good talking to you even if Wendy did dominate the first half of the conversation.

We weren't able to go down the river today after all as it rained.  We had decided to take a shorter trip today so Wendy could go with us so she was disappointed that it rained also.  Maybe next weekend.

Tuesday night this week Day Care is having a pot luck and meeting to re-elect the Board of Trustees.  Gerry also has Elks investigating committee so don't know how we'll work that out.  Wednesday is the blood drive.

It's now Monday morning and I am at work.  The whole office worked on Friday so Monday is the day off for last week and I am the only one here.  We will be closed as usual this Friday so it will be my turn to have the day off then.

It is raining again today!  Our grass is greener than we have ever seen it before.  Also our new strawberry plants seem to like all the moisture.  And we had our first onions and radishes out of our "garden".

Next week the whole office staff is going to a conference on stress.  Hopefully I can find a pamphlet to enclose on it.  Dr. W is going for Thursday & Friday both but the rest of us (his two assistants, the hygienist & me) are just going on Thursday.  They offered Thursday only at a reduced rate to attract more people and Dr. W. is paying our expenses.  Have you every heard of this Selye?  One of his books was excerpted in Book Digest last year.  Inn of the Seventh Mountain is the same place Gerry and I went last year (exactly a year ago this past weekend) for Marriage Encounter.

Well, I better close, I have lots of insurance forms to type up today.

Love,
Catherine, Gerry & Wendy
