Oct. 10 [1979? to John] - Madras - Left NV Oct. 1st for Phoenix then Roberta & I left for Portland by plane Tues. We rented a car & spent a couple of days driving along the coast & arrived at Catherine's yesterday. Have been out sightseeing today & will leave for Phoenix Mon. morning going to Portland with car & then Tues leave for for Phoenix by plane. We are having a good trip & the weather has been cool but nice. It was rather warm in Mesa but is cooling off says the paper. Wendy is a doll but keeps things lively. Love, Grandma & R.
Oct. 10 [1979? to HH] - Enjoying our trip & have been sightseeing today. Saw the rock gardens & castles which are very pretty & interesting. A [??] place Rock Mt. Park. It was nice that Catherine didn't have to work today. Tomorrow we go to an Indian Reservation. The farmers raise a lot of grass seed here for shipment with the help of irrigating. Gerry is watching all the ball games as if his life depended on them. Hope you enjoyed the Chicago trip & found S. fine. Will be time to start for Ohio next week. --Mother
