Dutch Family with Windmill Postcard sent to Catherine & Roberta - April 28, 1954
Wed. 4/28/54This is a picture of a Dutch family. How do you like their clothes and the windmill? We went over to the Hague yesterday which is their Capital, saw the Peace Palace Miniature Village (Dutch) where everything is 1/25 of its original size. You would have liked that. Saw the parade for the King and Queen of Denmark and the Queen of Netherlands. You look at Granddad's card and see some pretty flowers [below]. – Mommie and Daddy
Dutch Tulips card sent to M/M CJ Uible - April 28, 1954
4/28/54You see lots of fields like this out in the country. Smells nice too. Went out to the Isle of Markam Mon. and saw lot of wooden shoes and the old dress. There are still some windmills around. Breakfast comes with our room and get plenty of cold ham and cheese, get a big meal for our $1, qt of milk about 7¢, so good place to come back to with all the scenery. Still using our winter coats for very windy. –H&J
Note the pencil notes on the address edge of the last card which I think are in GHU's handwriting and appears to be the details on the return trip to the U.S.: Tourist Class, Passenger D.E. [?] Due May 18, Cunard Steamship, New York
