1991 John's Letter -Oct.7

Monday, Oct. 7, 1991

Dear Mom, Dad & Roberta,

Julie and I stayed here [Andover Inn] Sunday night after driving down in the rain from Freeport, Maine.  We had a relaxing stay in Andover after a busy weekend.  We had great weather everyday but Sunday it rained so we spent most of the day driving.  We had a tasty brunch at the York Harbor Inn (Maine).  Thought of Roberta in Freeport with all the Retail outlets.

We are about to depart Boston Airport for Newark, NJ so I'll probably mail this in Ohio.  We are looking forward to seeing you Saturday about 1:30 pm.

How is Grandma doing?  Be sure to tell her we said "hi".  Any news from Serena or Catherine?

Exeter has not changed much.  We saw Mr. Dion the faculty member who lived in Browning House.  We sat in on an English class -- students seem sharp as ever.  It sure brought back memories of 1974-76 -- both good and bad.

Monday afternoon we walked from Harvard Yard to Faneuil Hall downtown -- both of us were tired.  Both of us had a great weekend but we're ready to go home.

We want to talk to you about Thanksgiving (if you will be home) and Christmas on Saturday.  Anxious to see you.

Love,
John

P.S.  Thanks for the AAA books and maps.  They were very helpful.
