Tues. Noon [June 18, 1912]
Tomorrow will be our last day in Atlantic City.  We leave Thurs. morning for Philadelphia where we will remain until Thurs. evening and then we start for home.  If nothing prevents will be home Friday evening on the 6:20 train.  Cecil says he is home sick for work.  --G.H.U.

The Absecon Lighthouse was constructed beginning in 1854 and was first lit in January 1857.  It is the tallest lighthouse in NJ and third tallest masonry lighthouse in the US.  It was deactivated in 1933 although tourists can still visit and climb the 228 steps to the watch room.
