October 3, 1986-1999

Mothers Club, UMW, Lions Club

 HH's Diary 1988-1999 [lightly edited]

Friday 1986 - [Philippines and Korea trip through 10/10/86]

Tuesday 1989 - Husbands were guests of the NV Mothers Club at Friendly Village Inn in Leesburg.  Adrian Roberts spoke on the history of NV, quite interesting.  Serena leaves for Cleveland to visit friends.

Wednesday 1990 - Josephine Harner came and had dinner with Jean and worked on pecan order for Mothers Club.  [Meanwhile at Lions Club] the NV Emergency Squad was there with their new $60,000 vehicle.   Hortons left for NM.

Saturday 1992 - Jean went to UMW meeting in Columbus.  Rode bike over to Hillsboro to see Mother, she was alert.  Heartland had a Pork BBQ outdoors.  GHU seemed to enjoy it.  Kims asked us to bring Skyline chili to them.

Sunday 1993 - [New England and Nova Scotia trip through 10/10/93]

Monday 1994 - Mothers Club meeting at NV Senior Citizens, McCoy Catering, $8 each, musical program.  John Bashore brought us persimmons.

Tuesday 1995 - Jury report on OJ Simpson, after three hours deliberation and nine months of trial that he was innocent.  Saw Henry Edwards at Heartland.

Thursday 1996 - To be at CMH at 7:30am for eye surgery, we were home for lunch.

Friday 1997 - [Freedom Years Riverboat tour] On the trip were Larry and Pat Hartley of 2840 Antler Road, Ukiah CA (reminded me of Jack Laymon).

Saturday 1998 - Went to Columbus for Jean had UMW meeting at Linworth UMC, a very nice church.  Went to big book store and got book on Chicago (Michelin), also went to Tuttle Creek Crossing, a big mall.  Dublin has new P.L. with pretty view.  Met John, Julie and Kate at 2:45 at Joseph Banks clothing store as John got new suit.  They have $100 off of suit if you do (or don't) trade in an old suit.  We had supper at James Restaurant nearby at 4pm and were home by 7:15.  Rained all day, we need it.

Sunday 1999 - [Newark to NYC] We were at UMC Center in Worthington at 8:15, had nice continental breakfast, worship service at 8:30 and we left on the bus at 9am for NYC, all 46 of us.  Part of PA turnpike was one lane.  Got to NYC at 9:30pm at Hotel Edison, Room 1038.  Regular double rate is $140 + 10% tax.
