1990 Catherine's Letter -Nov.4

11-4-90

Dear Mother & Dad,

Hi!  I talked to Roberta on the phone after she returned from Ohio but we haven't gotten together yet.  We do have plans for Wednesday though so I should see her then.  Your letter made a quick trip to Phoenix but has been delayed in getting on to Glendale.

We had our heat on for the first time yesterday as the early morning temperature dropped to 49º.  It had been about two weeks since we turned the air conditioning off!

Gerry mowed the lawn yesterday and trimmed the shrubbery.  The grass is still fairly green but the colder nights will probably speed it into dormancy quickly.  The leaves are beginning to fall off our nectarine tree too.

It's been busy at the library.  We're doing teacher collections now (35 books for a month and we pick out the books) and that keeps us busy.  Our dept. still has a vacant position which we hope to fill in the next couple of weeks.  It's a YA position so hopefully there will be some qualified applicants to choose from.

Arizona is having Kids Voting at the polls tomorrow along with regular voting -- I'm helping at our precinct in the morning.  I don't think it will be too busy though since 80% of this precinct is Glencroft Senior Center!

Got to go!

Love,
Catherine, Gerry & Wendy
