1969 CJU obituary -Jan.13



Uible Services Scheduled

Services for Cecil J. Uible, 86, of New Vienna, former New Vienna mayor and president of Wells Manufacturing Co. of that village, who died Monday, have been set for Saturday at 2 P.M. at the Smith Funeral Home, New Vienna.  The Rev. John W. Beers will officiate.  Calling hours will be at the funeral home from Friday noon until time of service.  Burial will be in New Vienna IOOF Cemetery.

He died at John F. Kennedy Hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla., where he was being treated for a broken hip.  He was married June 10, 1912 to the former Gladys Hiestand who survives.    

Mr. Uible was born Jan. 7, 1883, in Edenton, the son of David and Sarah Smith Uible.

He was a member of the New Vienna United Methodist Church, Dalton Lodge F&AM and New Vienna Lions Club.  He was a former grocery owner and road contractor.  He was in charge of building the church addition and parsonage and was an honorary member of the church board, for many years an active member of the board.

Also surviving are a son, Harold, a New Vienna attorney; a daughter, Mrs. William Horton of Lake Worth, Fla.: and nine grandchildren.

The family requests that contributions be given to the gift fund at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
CECIL J. UIBLE -- Services were conducted by the Rev. John W. Beers Jr. at Smith funeral home, New Vienna, Saturday for Cecil J. Uible of New Vienna, who died Jan. 13 at John Kennedy Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla.  Joseph Horton was organist.

Pallbearers were Joe, Paul and Frank Hiestand, Richard and Howard Uible and R.W. Mongold.  Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in New Vienna.
