1969 Catherine's Postcard -Jan.1

Caption: COIT TOWER. San Francisco, California.  Coit Tower, on Telegraph Hill, was named for one of the early San Francisco pioneers, Lillie Hitchcock Coit.  She took great interest in the activities of the Volunteer Fire Department of that day.  This beautiful monument has been erected to her memory from funds she left to beautify the city.

Hi!  First meal stop here in Sacramento.  Of course I carry my own food!  Are you having a good new year?  I guess I'm slow – it's now the 2nd day of the year and we're in Nevada.  I had a good time at the NYE party. I'm enjoying riding the bus so far – met a girl from Mexico City and another from Sacramento.
Love, Catherine
