Notes from Dad's Diary 1989-1999 [lightly edited]
Monday 1989 - A super ice storm, our garage door wouldn't go up. About 2/3 of shop people out.
Tuesday 1990 - [Florida to Ohio] Back from Florida, non-stop Delta, an hour early to airport but very slow moving line, just few minutes to spare. Gene Williams met us. Judy (the over jinked [jeweled?, something beginning with j, y or p] blond) started to take care of GHU.
Wednesday 1991 - Spoke to 3rd and 4th graders at NV school on bike ride. Jo Harner also spoke. [Cross country ride made in spring of 1989.]
Saturday 1993 - Jean went to church meeting in Englewood. Went square dancing in Hillsboro. Jerry Held was the caller, he has been calling for 50 years. His wife is quite friendly, they are sponsoring a trip to Europe. Mother drank both milks well, but very poor on other food.
Wednesday 1996 - On Lions Club program with Tom Terrell and Bob McCoy who spoke on the murder mystery of Franz Joseph's [Emperor of Austria] son, [Crown Prince Rudolf] in 1889, the year his Dad [Bob McCoy's Dad, not Prince Rudolf's].
Thursday 1997 - Busy day at the office. We have gotten caught up on the "back" newspapers [after returning from longish trip to South Africa and then home via London and NYC]
Saturday 1999 - Goodings came down at 10:30 and we went to Murphin Ridge for lunch (11:30-1), down to West Union where Lafferty Funeral Home has an exhibit of old stuff, but was closed. Visited library built in 1997. Stopped at Maple Syrup place on 136 just before 62 [see 2/2/97 for previous visit there with Goodings], they made 17 gallons of syrup one day this week. Takes 50 gallons of sap to get one gallon of syrup. Jean had a nice supper and the Goodings left about 8:45. Gave Bob that book on Florida. Lisa has a new Ford Taurus.
