1990 Mom & Dad's letter to John -Mar.1

Mar. 1, 1990 (Thurs.)
Dearest John --

It was good talking to you on the phone before we left.  Had a nice trip down & stopped to see Helen Kuntzman.  It so happened Ken and Lorraine Enright were speaking at a missions weekend program at her church so got to see them too.  They are to be at the Reynoldsburg U. Methodist Church soon & I'm sure you'd be interested in hearing him if you aren't already busy!  Sorry I didn't get the date there.  Perhaps Mark knows?

Also stopped to see Donald & Martha Ann Bernard Sat. morning & then picked up Roberta & G'ma at the airport in West Palm.

We've had a busy time ever since.  g'ma has had alot of pain in her back so went to see a doctor.  X-rays showed a number of things but surgery wasn't recommended for someone her age.  He gave her a shot and pain medicine for future discomfort.

We have been busy with other things too -- church services, Ash Wednesday supper and service plus Sunday School class meeting.  Mary & I went to see White Eagle -- the noted Indian singer who was excellent.

Thought you might be interested in seeing the clipping that was in the WNJ about the engagement plus some pictures Roberta brought of G'ma and Beethoven with Sid in the background of one.

Dad wants to add a note.  [now in Dad's handwriting]  We have been to the beach once (also library once).  G'ma enjoys the van wheel chair lift -- it works easily.  We are flying home on the 6th, back on the 16th & then will drive the van home to meet G'ma on the 24th.

The Enrights were the pastors of the NVUMC in the late 1930s & went from there into the mission field.  He is an excellent speaker & Mrs. "E" is very passionate.

The W.N. Journal is a week late in getting here.  G'ma looks forward to the mail.  The big issue in the paper is about the proposed new WILM City Bldg. -- about where to put it and how to finance it.

Love,
Mom & Dad
