Dad's Diary 1989-1999 [lightly edited]
Saturday 1984 - Serena called from Flagstaff about car trouble. [Possibly this is when Serena and Grandma also came to Colfax WA and Serena took Wendy and Grandma on the memorable trip to Lake Louise.]
Friday 1989 - [Mares, Robert and Wes visiting] Joe Horton arrived en route from NYC to Santa Fe (he moved there 11/87). Joe likes to play bingo. Got bike pictures from Wandering Wheels.
Saturday 1990 - [Turkey]
Sunday 1991 - [Wendy visiting] Mother very alert. About 4:00 we went to Lake Cowan and went sail boating. $16 for two hours, then a snack at Taco Bell. Roberta called, had gotten her friend Beverly to Colorado.
Thursday 1994 - We went to Lebanon for Smith closing, then had lunch at Golden Lamb. Most lunches $7.50, beverages $1.20. Worked at the Ball Park with Ollie Medlock [?]. Had hot fudge sundae at Mcdonald's, 89¢.
Friday 1995 - Buzzards Glory Days again.
Sunday 1996 - [ElderHostel program to Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary, returning 6/22]
Tuesday 1998 - [Williamsburg VA] Rooms in The Williamsburg Lodge are $202/night. After buffet breakfast we took the bus to the Visitors Center, saw the 37 minute movie, visited the [Governor's] Palace and the maze. Had snack at the Chowning's Tavern, then to the Capitol (really no wait). Jean and Roberta went shopping. Sid and MUH to take a nap.
Wednesday 1999 - Jean and I went down to Wells to get items upstairs for Church yard sale – guess we got carried away as Bob from Processed Plastics came at 10:00 and I was in shorts. Oh well. Got e-mail from Don Bernard about a farmer wanting a divorce. Do you have grounds? Yes I have 200 acres. Do you have a case? No, I have a John Deere. Jean got the AOL [chat] to working, like a phone chat, only with typing over the internet.
