June 2, 1989-99 Crowsons move to Somerset

Dad's Diary 1989-1999 [lightly edited]

Friday 1989 - Picked 6 quarts of strawberries.  We had made reservations through the school for an Airborne Tour at 12:30AM, actually turned out to be at 1:30.  What a beehive of activity.  The air tran moved out in 1971 and Airborne came in 1980, they have 2200 employees.  Tom Green was our tour guide and also Lisa Zimmerman.  We got home at 4:15AM.  Having trouble with our ice maker.

Saturday 1990 - [Turkey]

Sunday 1991 - After seeing GHU at noon we ate at the Wooden Spoon, buffet $5.95.  Went to WCH Tri-County Square Dance.  Had hard rain in NV.  Rev. Paul Steele retiring from the ministry today from Mt. Healthy UMC.

Tuesday 1992 - Got two apple trees at half price (were $18.95) and planted right behind our house.  Our strawberries are ripe.  Picture of Hortons in the WNJ re: 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Pr.... m... .... [Indecipherable] Curless, Wilt and Ashley.

Wednesday 1993 -  On Lions Club committee with Don G., had lasagna, plenty of bread, California vegetables, salad and a sort of rhubarb pie with ice cream.  17 members present.  Don Isaacs spoke about their apple business, they have 800 trees.  He has five more years in Dayton before he retires.  Larry Blackburn is the next Lions Club President.

Friday 1995 - [KY] Moving Day.  MV had a truck with two men who came and moved the big stuff.  We did take a couple of loads over in the pick-up and their car.  Had carry-out salad from Wendy's at the new house.  We were all tired that afternoon.  They have ordered pizza for supper.

Sunday 1996 - [ElderHostel program to Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary, returning 6/22]

Monday 1997 - Put out broccoli and two cantaloupe plants.  Administrative Board Meeting.  Annual Conference next week.

Wednesday 1999 - Another Linkhart hearing.  We took Ruth Shoemaker to Jay's Landing for lunch.  Signed up for cell phone.  On Lions Club dinner committee with Dana D. and Wendell Compton.  Had cookout with hamburgers, etc., potato salad, baked beans (oodles of them).  Rick Stanforth spoke on Habitat for Humanity.  Got dent in side of car.
