Dearest Mother,Just tucked Catherine in for the night and gave her spanking no. 1 for she refused to stay on her tummy & screamed & cried after she'd roll over on her back. Mary & Bill's children were over today & we ate together tonight. Mother & Daddy Uible went to a Lions club dinner. Realize I also left 2 protective sheets in her crib -- one rubber & one plastic. Plan to buy a mattress soon. Using one Harold used to have on his bed. Wrote this on porch at dusk so excuse if you cannot read. All well. Think of you often. Made home-made ice cream tonight.
