1962 Golden Wedding Anniversary Announcement in Wilmington News-Journal - June 8

Open House June 17 to Celebrate 
Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Uible

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil J. Uible of New Vienna will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, June 17.

An open house to mark the event will take place at the New Vienna home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Uible.  Arriving Monday to assist with the hospitality will be the C. J. Uibles' son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Horton of Lake Worth, Fla.  With them will be their three sons, Joseph, Cris and Robert.  Their daughter Marianne, accompanied her grandparents to New Vienna six weeks ago when they returned from vacationing in Florida.

The Harold Uibles also have four children.  Catherine, Roberta, Serena and John [MV joined the family 20 months later], and with their Florida cousins will be on hand to lend assistance.

Friends are invited to call Sunday afternoon, the 17th, from 2 to 5 o'clock.  Mr. and Mrs. Uible are looking forward to the happy occasion in celebration of their wedding anniversary as an opportunity to see and be with their friends with no gifts or remembrances involved.

Mr. and Mrs. Uible were married in Hillsboro 50 yeas ago at the home of Mrs. Uible's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hiestand, by the Rev. James Cooley [spelled Colley in original wedding announcement].  Mrs. Uible was the former Gladys Hiestand.  Mr. Uible operated a general store in Westboro and was a highway contractor for 25 years.  Since 1948 he has been president of the Wells Manufacturing Co., of New Vienna.
