Having the best time ever. Do not worry.  --G.H.

These words probably made Grandma's mother worry more than ever. Here was her baby off to Niagara Falls for a high school graduation trip (?) with plenty of things for Mamma to worry about. Speculating with Dad and Serena this morning [in 2009] about whether this was the trip during which Grandma met Grandad. Although the card is a scene from Belle Isle, Detroit, Michigan the card is postmarked from Buffalo so we can assume that the trip went to Detroit first. Five more cards from this trip yet to come, so we can speculate more after a few additional notes to Mamma.

I still remember Grandma telling me she graduated from HS one year, married the next and gave birth to Aunt Mary the next year! A very interesting card and a trip like this must have been a REALLY big deal then because traveling SW Ohio to Detroit to Niagra/Buffalo and back home is many miles today when transportation is moving much more quickly.
