Grandma breaks hip

HH's Diary 1964,86,89-99 [lightly edited]

Monday 1964 - GHU fell and broke femur neck bone in right hip.

Sunday 1986 - [Philippines and Korea trip through 10/10/86]

Thursday 1989 - Farewell party for Bob Mongold, he turned 65. [same Bob M who caught fingers in die machine on 9/16/94?]  He has had 64 months with perfect attendance.  Got him a weed-eater for a gift.  The fresh fruit went over well.

Friday 1990 - [Japan and China through 9/30]

Saturday 1991 - We went to the Festival of Sharing at the Clark County Fairgrounds.  Talked to Helen Kline, near 60, a student minister at New Marshfield, near Athens, hopes to graduate next June.  Stopped in Xenia to get cards and also at Wilberforce.  John Harner called, was going to bring in a load of manure, so took him home and then on to Don and Martha Ann Bernards for supper.  The John Hughes were also there.  We got home at 11:45.  Called Joe Horton earlier about visiting him.

Monday 1992 - [Note from Grandma's caregiver included:  Harold:  Ms U sleepy but eating well.  She weighed 95# last Monday, up 4#.  Ate good bit of supper, grapes, cheese, etc.  Got a few laughs out of her before I left.]

Tuesday 1993 - [New England and Nova Scotia trip through 10/10/93]

Wednesday 1994 - [to Lancaster PA] We left for Lancaster PA, had lunch in Cambridge OH.  Toll on turnpike was $6.85.

Thursday 1995 - [China trip with Roberta, etc. ends, Cincinnati to home] Jean had meeting in Cincinnati.

Saturday 1996 - [Charleston SC to Charlotte NC] Went to Mt. Pleasant and went on several tours of the [USS] Yorktown aircraft carrier, some 800 feet long.  There were six different tours.  We had the navy lunch there, $4.99.  Left much to be desired.  Left there about 2pm and got to Charlotte about 6:30, stopped at Visitor Center and made reservations for Comfort Inn at Exit 5, went round about way to Stadium where Billy Graham was speaking.  What a crowd, we did find seats – apart – but after 20 minutes of sitting in the rain and only loud rap music we left.  Long walk back to 4th and Cedar where we had parked.  Had a snack at Chili's near the hotel.

Monday 1998 - We had ultrasound tests, all OK.

Tuesday 1999 - Grant Douglas down again [Wells].  Got email from Crowsons, their computer is now working.  Doris was over and got some broccoli.  Heard that Almeada Peters has bone cancer and is very uncomfortable.
