November 9, 1989-1999

Biking with Sankers

 HH's Diary 1989-1999 [lightly edited]

Thursday 1989 - Wayne Hagemeyer elected "Pres" of Clinton County ⃞ [dancing].

Friday 1990 - Took GHU to Dr. Moran, cut her nails.  Went with the NV Senior Citizens to Golden Corral.  Dinner coupon for 10¢ plus cost of salad bar.  Then to Wilmington College for "Pippin" – 140 minutes without intermission.

Saturday 1991 - Met the Sankers and rode bikes from Milford to Loveland and had picnic lunch there by the old RR station.  21.9 miles round trip, temperature in the 40s.  Then went with them over to Lowell & Pam Sanker's house in Montgomery.  Their son Ben is 2½ and does he have the toys – all from the garage sale.

Tuesday 1993 - [Ginny visiting] Debate between Ross Perot and VP Al Gore about NAFTA.   Dr. Kerr's office called about my tests, no cancer but do have an enlargement of a prostate gland, so need blood tests each 6 months.

Wednesday 1994 - Drove to Ashland to meet with people at Hedstroms re their ball requirements for 1995.  On the new car got about 33mpg.  Turned 1000 miles.

Thursday 1995 - Met with James Terrell and opened Eliz. Peterson Estate [1905-1995].  Went ⃞ dancing, lesson class there.  Colin Powell announced that he would seek the Presidency.  Kings go to the Y at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Saturday 1996 - [Trip to Australia and New Zealand through 11/22]

Sunday 1997 - [Kentucky] We all went to Trinity UMC, then to Joseph Beth Book Store.  It was a disaster at Cracker Barrel as one of our tables never got served in an hour, after complaining, finally got it as take-out food.  Kate and Ginny enjoyed the pool.

Monday 1998 - Otterbein had luncheon at Samuel Walkers, they are building 60 new houses.  Haven't found Lyle Sheffield's will yet, calling hours for him at the UMC, what a turn out.  Went to Dr, cut back on medicine.  Martinsville [UMC] weekly need of $731.85.  Their attendance of 54.  NV had 89 yesterday.

Tuesday 1999 - What a day with Patty Lynch, Jo Ellen Uhl, Grant Douglass and then to Cape May at 4pm for a tour of Mt. Pleasant.  There were 15 of us.  Board Members and guests, a big facility, though we were not impressed with the meal – small cup of soup, skimpy Greek salad with choice of Beef Stroganoff or Cheezy Chicken and rice and dessert.   Sarah Boehn is the Adm. there.  She was at Wilmington Extended Care for 10+ years, still looks young, though she has 14-year-old son.  The "Chef" there looked like a high school gal but said she had been there 10 years.  Had email from Mares about next July at Shenandoah for four nights starting  7/1/00.  Got two new lamp bowls at Ace Hardware.
