Dad's Diary 1989-1999 [lightly edited]
Wednesday 1989 - [Cross-country bike ride San Diego to Jacksonville continues through May 5]
Thursday 1990 - Bar meeting in Cincinnati. Calling hours for Mabel Pausch [Leon Salisbury's sister]. Had early bird supper at Golden Lamb for $7.60 [or 7.6 (or better yet "8") as Priceless: The Myth of Fair Value, the book by William Poundstone which Dad recently read and I'm reading now, would suggest as the proper way to list the price.] With tax for two = $16.04, served 5-6:30, other meals $12 and up.
Sunday 1992 - [to Kentucky] Leave to see the Crowsons, they had just spent a week in GG's condo. Visited Fort Boonesborough en route, combination ticket with White Hall Historic Site $5 each. Snack at P.... [?] in Berea. Church at Somerset. Rev. Kalan [?] spoke, very eloquent on God's Gamble. Crowsons heard they are moving to Williamsburg, KY.
Tuesday 1994 - [Roberta still visiting?]
Wednesday 1995 - Having trouble with the computer. Helen Russell was in about her [housing] problems. Richard Carr called, he is so impatient. Finally finished up our tax returns.
Friday 1996 - Worked garden over. Planted onions and peas. Got two books Longitude by Dava Sobel and Our Smallest Towns by Dennis Kitchen. Article in 4/8/96 NYT about Chicago and Santa Barbara. Had ice cream and strawberries in office to celebrate the end of tax season. Got letter on computer and now can't find it.
Saturday 1997 - Pancake lunch at NV Senior Center, Cris and Angela are en route to get things at GHU's. Don has possible angina problems. Washed the car.
Sunday 1998 - [Easter] Sunrise service at Martinsville UMC, nice turn out. 50 at Sunday School, 145 at church. Crowsons arrived about 7:30.

1992 was Rev. Ellsworth Kallas, revival speaker that year. He just returned to retirement from Interim President of Asbury Seminary and has written prolifically for adult S.S. curriculum in UMC (more than you wanted to know, I'm sure...)
