Reading these things brings back memories. Marie's daughter, Eloise was the same age as Mary Uible Horton, and Eloise has been gone for some 10 plus years. I recall the Oscar Johnsons and the McCoys being Thanksgiving guests.

In the old days CJU and GHU went shopping after Christmas, and then left for Florida later that week. That way their son did not miss any school, just in time for the mid-year exams in a new new school.

How fortunate a life it is.

I do remember the Johnsons frequently at the house for holidays/events. I don't remember the McCoys as well nearly as well - I assume that is Eva and Arthur - not their son and his wife and daughter.

Also, I think that doctor from Sweden, I think it was, may have come for Thanksgiving.

A Swedish Doctor? You'll have to jog my mind a bit more to remember him.

Catherine,

I think he was Ohio in the late 1970s - so you may never have met him.

Dr. Otterland---they took over Dr. Fullerton's office as I recall, yes back in the 1970s and stayed for a few years. They had come from Nashville TN before New Vienna. That led to several of their friends coming to NVUMC to lead different meetings. All of whom stayed at the Uible house, as I recall.

Well, at that point, it was long past being Dr. Fullerton's office. I think it had most recently been Dr. (Paul?) Terrell's office. Dr. Fullerton was long dead.
