Scottsdale trip, etc.

Sid and I went to Scottsdale today for a doctor's appointment. I've got the route to the doctor's officce via the 101 down pretty well. We did take a few umm . . . scenic detours back and ended up skipping the 101 and going Lincoln which dead-ends into Glendale Ave.

We went to Pappadeaux's for lunch - it was delicious. I had a salmon salad - which wasn't quite what I had expected. It was more a piece of salmon with some salad underneath it - but still delicious. As Sid and I were leaving I noticed a man and woman at a table - both were working on their computers. The man's was about the standard laptop size (15 inch or so size screen), but the woman's was tiny - maybe half that size. I stopped and chatted with her a bit and she said that she really liked it - it had all her programs and it was quite easy to use the keyboard. We also went to Costco.

Today was another hot day in Sun City West - 94, I think. Right now it is about 80 degrees and I am outside blogging. The rest of the neighborhood looks pretty dark.

Serena, I remember Wendy making a similar remark about the salmon salad when we all went there together awhile back. So are you thinking about buying one of those miniature laptops? Your comment about sitting in the dark caused me to look at the time posting -- which I realized is eastern time and evidently not a way to actually show the time zone of the poster. Blogger must think all blog contributors live in the same time zone. Maybe we should switch to Central time since none of us live there!

At least on Blogger, the administrator chooses what time zone the "blog" is in. Although I agree in some ways that it doesn't make sense - it does make certain things simpler. For instance, you can tell for certain what order posts were made in because they are all "in" the same time zone.

It was, as I'm sure you figured out, about 8:30-9:00 p.m. in SCW when I wrote the post. Which here is like the middle of the night.

No, I'm not really all that interested in a small computer. For one thing - one pays a very high premium for the size. Secondly, I don't really have the "need" for a tiny computer - hauling around my "normal" sized computer isn't all that horrible. I certainly can see why people who haul their computers around a lot really want a small laptop - especially petite women. And, of course, my huge backpack does make it much easier (and more ergonomic) to haul my computer around. I read relatively recently that laptops now outsell desktops.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember Wendy making that comment about the salmon salad - or, more accurately, the SALMON with a bit of salad underneath.

Obviously I didn't read this closely enough because I THOUGHT (or assumed) it was RUK's post.... Sorry, Serena!
