Friday 1989 - [Southwest Harbor Maine] Nice library in SW Harbor, had soup and muffins for lunch nearby, also a Children's bookstore. Drove around part of island, saw ferry off to Swan Island, very foggy. Saw lighthouse. Had supper near SW Post Office, Clark Point. The B&B moved us to a new room, had forgotten that.
Saturday 1990 - [Japan and China through 9/30]
Sunday 1991 - Picked up our NZ friends [Hiestand Douds] at Joe Hiestand's at 10am, then we had lunch and drove them to the Columbus airport with several stops in WCH as he wanted to get pictures of some of the Dowds there. [Linda Hiestand Dowds is the daughter of the NZ Joe Hiestand] We made it with 10 minutes to spare. They were going on to Zurich to visit her aunt [who died at age 101 in 2009]. We went on to see Thelma Holmes, visited the Hanby House [home of Benjamin Hanby (1833-1867), Ohio songwriter famous for "Darling Nelly Gray" and Christmas song "Up on the House Top," in Westerville and really had a personal tour. Supper at McDonalds.
Wednesday 1993 - [New England and Nova Scotia trip through 10/10/93]
Thursday 1994 - Jean had her last therapy session today while I took some pills at CMH for a thyroid test tomorrow. Went on to Dayton to Court House, got along weal well there. Then to White Allen Honda and then over to Hidy Honda where we bought an off white color EX model. Made a stop at Becky Teboe's, legal estate matter, then to Arby's where we got 5 for $5 (regular $1.29 each). Kroger having milk at $1.69 and bananas at 25¢/lb. Then went ⃞ dancing, boy are we rusty. Tom McMillin passed away at 67.
Friday 1995 - [China trip with Roberta, etc. through 9/27/95]
Sunday 1996 - [Spartansburg to Hilton Head Island SC] Had lunch in Beaufort SC, pretty park along the street. On to Hilton Head where we stayed at Fairfield Inn. A lot of the island closed off to visitors and just open to residents. Area is divided into different plantations. Had supper at Diner near hotel.
Monday 1997 - Jean had retreat at Ann Bailey's. Went out to Flora Daniels house, what a mess. Went to Wilmington with Joan Gruber, she has been busy wall papering. Went to program at WC on Wills of Women in SC from 1660-1700.
Wednesday 1999 - [Holden Village to Seattle WA] Left Holden Village at 10:40, got fast boat ($38 round trip, slow boat is $19). Made a stop in Leavenworth where the architecture is like a Swiss village. Plenty of rest rooms. Had supper at Cle Elum, back to Seattle about 8pm at the Comfort Inn where we upgraded to a suite at same price as we paid for the single room.
