Dear Mother, Dad, and Mary,
Hi! Glad to talk to Mother on Friday and get your long letter on Saturday. We feel like we are getting close to our date of departure with less than two weeks to go! I confirmed the Amtrak reservations yesterday and we seem to be all set.
We got Wendy's picture taken on Saturday but I don't know how it will come out. She was very nervous and didn't want to smile. She finally relaxed a little after the photographer played catch with her but then she kept putting her hands over her face!
We don't have too much going on this week. The Elks Birthday dinner is this Wednesday. I am to help with it so I have to be there about 6:00. They start serving at 6:30. I will get a free dinner out of it so it makes my help worth $3.00. They are having a good dinner this month with Cornish Games Hens and Indian Fry Bread.
We got our taxes done last week and were disappointed to find out that we will have to pay $298 .00 in federal tax. We had thought with our interest and child care we might not have to pay. We do get a $110 refund from the state. We sent the state forms in right away but plan to wait until April to send the federal. At least we have had the money to use during the year instead of the government taking it and then giving it back to us.
Got to get Wendy ready for school.
