Tues. Night. [07/27/1909] Have just arrived home from shopping. I am perfect scared for fear my money will not hold out but I suppose I will have to make ends meet. G.H.
Obviously Grandma did not like to be "perfect scared" and made sure that those pennies were pinched for the rest of her days. I'm beginning to feel some sympathy for her mother who must be more worried with each received postcard. At least with mail arriving several times a day, it didn't take long for the next card to arrive.

what I'm wondering is who on earth she was traveling with if she's writing to her mother at home?

Yes, I had two good tutors at home in Economics, i.e let money work for you instead of working to pay the interest due or put another way spend less than what you make..
