Tues. 7/21/87 – These [postcards] are free – you can see why. Everybody treats us like guests. One host told us no crook would pedal 72 miles to steal from her house. It really feels great to take a bath after a "day on the road." Bkfst is available at 4 AM. At 7 (in the rain) I had bkfst 35 miles later. Yes, R&I are still on speaking terms.
