Thursday 1986 - [Philippines and Korea trip through 10/10/86]
Tuesday 1990 - [first day home from Japan and China] Mothers Club at Denver House. Jean and Margaret Drake were on the committee, about $20 each. M. Drake's new son-in-law [daughter Lora], Paul DeWeese spoke on "Trash," he is the Wilmington Supt. of Waste Collection.
Wednesday 1991 - Bill Kincaid spoke on their trip to Iceland [at Lions Club], Jan-June. He lost 24#. Jean finished reading the diary of the trip to Alaska by the Hadley lady in 1897. [Martha E. Hadley was an early missionary to Alaska, but I can't find any books by her. She is mentioned in a book called Authentic Alaska: voices of its native writers compiled by Susan B. Andrews, published in 1998. Per HH: This Ms. Hadley had connections with the local Hadley families. They were some of the earlier settlers in NE Clinton County.]
Friday 1992 - Dedication of new $3.8 million city building (40,000 sq.ft) in Wilmington, it replaced one of 1878 that cost $22,000. MUH feeling better, they have gone to see Cris and Angela.
Saturday 1993 - [New England and Nova Scotia trip through 10/10/93]
Sunday 1994 - [Lancaster PA to home] Went to 9AM church at Highland Presbyterian Church. Left about 10:30, got to Scenery Hill about 3:30, what a crowd, so we ending up eating at Caringer's [?] about two miles north of I-70 on US-19. Got gas for 101.9¢ in Cambridge.
Monday 1995 - Jean went to see Dr Kim and I went to Court House. Mothers Club at Ponderosa, Pres Gray was to speak but he cancelled out, so had impromptu talks. Got a jar of green beans from Betty Eltzroth. Jack Walker told the story about the stranger and the girl who was going to come to the party.
Wednesday 1996 - On the Lions Club committee with Harry W. Carey and John Henize. Cost $14 a piece and had 21 present (3 Hillsboro guests), program by lady from Wilmington in wheelchair, who spoke on dogs helping people who are handicapped in other ways other than seeing-eye dogs. Phil McElwee, zone chairman was there. Now have 30,000 miles on the Honda. Got flyer from Wandering Wheels about their 1997 bike programs.
Thursday 1997 - [Freedom Years Riverboat tour]
Saturday 1999 - [Newark] We all went to the Longaberger Homestead place (the basket people development), everything on sale that we don't need. Have reconstructed a very large barn there. At 5m they lower the flag and release the pigeons. Said they fly home (16 miles) and they they repeat the process the next day.
