HH's Diary March 2, 1989-1999 [lightly edited]
Thursday 1989 - Got a quick appointment with Dr. McMullen -- enamel chip off my tooth. Went square dancing, they have ordered 1M [thousand] ribbons for the June 11th jamboree. Bob Olinger [?] passed away at 73.
Friday 1990 - [Florida]
Saturday 1991 - Nice day to work outdoors. Mother was about as talkative tonight as I recall. We went to the play "The Belle of Amherst" sole actor was Susan Kensinger Gingerich [?] as Miss Emily Dickinson -- life at home in mid-19th century. A UMW friend had student there from Holland, reminded us of our stay Ottorlo [part of Ede] in 1988.
Sunday 1992 - John and Julie here for church, brought Grandma over for lunch and took her back about 5:30. Poor appetite and little conversation. [I'm] still feeling lousy with stuffed up nose, chills and coughing.
Wednesday 1994 - [Hawaii]
Thursday 1995 - Catherine made her weekly call, about 7:15 our time, 5:15 in AZ. Roberta has sold her Philip Morris stock. Met Serena for lunch, ate in Fairfield. Jean had trouble getting the car started. Went to Value City, near Tri-County, what a huge place, both the "general store" and the furniture store. Then to Globe Furniture near I-75 and 275 and got the expandable table with 6 chairs. They wanted $100 to deliver and also they came down $10/chair upon request. Got cottage cheese at Blanchester Kroger's, 88c (24oz) and grapes for 99c/pound.
Friday 1996 - [to Kentucky] Had lunch at Cracker Barrel in Georgetown KY - en route to Somerset.
Sunday 1997 - [Kentucky]
Monday 1998 - Jean had scroll meeting in Wilmington. Had another of their mail order closings.
